PresentersKim Sapp Dinwiddie

Session Description: This workshop allows staff to reimagine equitable compensation for their knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience. It is a much deeper dive into teaching non-represented staff how to effectively negotiate their compensation during the offer and salary negotiation phase of the job interviewing process, as well as during the promotion and/or reclassification process. They will be able to apply the same salary structure, guidelines, policies, and reasoning that the University uses when making compensation decisions. Learning how to effectively navigate the salary negotiation process will ensure that staff is empowered to be equitably compensated for their contributions.

  2. Use the Career Tracks Salary Structure, the Salary Placement Guidelines, and other salary-setting factors to learn how compensation decisions are made
  3. Determine the best offer and salary negotiation case/argument for yourself, based on the same concrete factors and rationale used by the University
