    • Webinar Description:

The 3 Keys to Unlocking Greater Courage, Confidence, and Clarity workshop will help you get closer to that. By learning about mental fitness and how to strengthen it, you will be able to navigate your professional growth and development with more ease and flow and set yourself up for greater success now and in the future.
      • Based on research-based findings from 500,000 participants, the strength of your positive mental muscles versus negative are the best predictor of how well you navigate challenges relative to your potential and how happy you will be.
      • In other words, just like climbing a mountain is more physically taxing when you’re not physically fit, professional challenges are more mentally stressful when you’re not mentally fit.
      • During the workshop, you will:
        • Learn about positive mental muscles versus negative and their impact on you and your life
        • Shine the light on the root sources of your stress, anxiety, self-doubt, and other negative emotions and energy
        • Learn powerful ways to weaken your inner critic and strengthen your inner wisdom
        • Discover how to overcome challenges in ways that lead to optimal professional outcomes, relationships, and wellbeing
      • You will leave the workshop having reconnected with your best self, having recharged to navigate life with greater courage, confidence, and clarity, and having reimagined a brighter, bolder future.
      • Imagine, what greater potential and impact could emerge from University of California employees when they access more of their courage, confidence, and clarity and let that lead them to what’s next in their careers? This workshop will bring them one step closer to making that a reality.

    • Materials:

  • Nicolas Gattig Headshot6/7, 9:00-10:00 am PT - Visibility Without Bluster: More Communication Impact for Introverts | Nicolas Gattig, BetterUp Coach
    • Learning Objectives:
      • Presenting with confidence and impact, both virtual and in-person
      • Raising visibility and enhancing self-advocacy by speaking with authority
      • Effective communication in meetings and impromptu situations
    • Webinar Description:
      • As workplaces reconnect and collaboration is reimagined in hybrid environments, communication must adapt as well. The new workplace is challenging especially for introverts, as they may struggle to communicate with impact both in virtual and in-person talks. In this session, participants learn how to engage a new hybrid workforce with communication techniques that get buy-in and help them get noticed. They learn to present with confidence in online and in-person settings, as well as speak impromptu and advocate for themselves in a manner that feels authentic.
      • The performative element of presentations is no natural fit for an introvert, causing anxiety and underperformance. Introverts tend to rely on data to tell a story, perhaps even adding a healthy skepticism, to do justice to complex situations. But while they are right not to “dumb things down,” this presentation style may be perceived as lacking clear direction, authority, and optimism, which makes it hard to win over some audiences. In addition, introverts may be wary of self-advocacy, uncomfortable with “selling” an idea and tooting their own horn. As a result, their contributions may be perceived as dry, perhaps even negative and lacking inspiration, and fail to compel an audience.
      • Addressing these challenges, in this session, participants learn how to contribute and speak on the fly during meetings, expand on their expertise without getting lost in detail, as well as how to respond to pushback or challenging questions. In addition, participants learn to present with confidence, conciseness, and impact, also in high-stake situations and to leadership audiences. Using real-world examples, they learn actionable techniques to calm nerves, speak with greater persuasion and relevance, and elevate content through storytelling elements. These skills will boost their visibility in the organization and position them for future opportunities.

  • Annalyn Cruz headshot6/9, 9:00-10:00 am PT - Real Talk: Advocate and Negotiate Salary with Authenticity and Courage | Annalyn Cruz of Grounded In Wisdom, LLC

    • Learning Objectives:
      • Identify mindset of what is most challenging in regards to advocating for our own professional & career development, which includes salary negotiations
      • Reflect on one's various identities and how that influences how we show up In the workplace
      • Review practical tips and strategies for action relating to self-advocacy
      • Identify community support and other “Hype Crew” members (i.e., mentor, sponsor, skip level leader, peers) to assist in one's development plan
    • Webinar Description:
      • It takes courage and intentionality to self-advocate and feel empowered when approaching career growth and development. Salary negotiations, in particular, can bring up feelings of self-doubt, anxiety, and discomfort.
      • Through reflection, practical tips/strategies, and exploring a self-advocacy plan, you can feel better prepared and empowered to approach these conversations with more courage.
      • We will also discuss how cultural nuances, family expectations, and intersectional identities can influence why self-advocacy and salary negotiations can feel so challenging--and, there is a way to approach these more effectively, powerfully, and authentically.
