UC Berkeley People & Culture is thrilled to announce the 10th annual Next Opportunity at Work (NOW) conference for staff career development will be held virtually on June 9, 2022. The NOW Conference is an all-day event designed to support UC staff with career and professional development. Learn more about NOW below!


What to expect:

We have reimagined the 2022 conference by developing a virtual program designed to give you the same dynamic learning experience and networking opportunities that you have come to expect from the NOW Conference. The conference will include:

Conference Day Activities:

What: NOW, which is in its 10th year, is an all-day conference designed to support UC staff with career and professional development through inspiring keynote speakers, workshops with thought leaders, networking connections with peers, and career planning resources. This year’s theme is Upskill, Reskill, Thrive! We are anticipating up to 1,500 staff attendees. 

When: The NOW Conference will take place on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with numerous pre- and post-conference activities, workshops, and coaching sessions happening the entire week, June 6-10.

Who: We invite all UC staff to attend as part of their professional development(link is external)

  • UC Berkeley staffBerkeley People & Culture is sponsoring 1,200 UCB staff to attend the conference.

    • Good news! We still have a few open spots for UCB staff.  Register to attend by filling out this lottery form link here to grab an available spot while they last.  Any submissions received over our capacity of 1,200 will be placed on the waiting list in the order received.

  • Staff from all other UC locations - We have seats available for non-UCB UC staff. If you would like to purchase your ticket(s), you can use this external UC registration link. Tickets are $119.

Where: This year’s conference and all pre-and post-conference activities will be fully virtual. Registrants will be sent an event invite with access links once registration is confirmed.
