About Us


The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) is a department within People and Culture that fosters community and engagement for staff employees, develops programs and experiences for employees to increase their racial literacy and cultural fluency, and is committed to creating a community where all employees have the capacity, agency, and comfort to be their authentic selves at work everyday. 


Our mission is engage the campus community in transforming their consciousness, cultivating skills, and providing resources to rid the University of California at Berkeley of all forms of racism and sexism. We do this through providing high-quality professional learning experiences, producing and dissemination of useful tools, consultations and strategy advising, and substantive partnerships.
