Managers can access the manager dashboard in the UC Learning Center to view their employees’ completion status for their Foundational Skills required training. Please refer to this step-by-step guide for navigating your Manager Dashboard online or via PDF.

Frequently Asked Questions

I am still receiving notifications for a former direct report/employee. How can I have them removed from my UC Learning Center direct reports?

Please make sure that their UCPath profile has been properly updated with your HR representative first. After it has been more than 48 hours since their profile was updated in UCPath, you may contact us at: LearningCenter@berkeley.edu with (if possible) the person's (1) Name, (2) Email, (3) UCPath ID, (4) Date of Termination / Job Change from your team.

Are managers notified when direct reports register or complete courses offered in the UC Learning Center?

Managers are only notified of completion of MANDATORY courses (the ones listed on the Foundational Skills website). They are not notified of registrations or completions of other activities or courses. The manager can access the Manager Dashboard in the UC Learning Center (ucsumtotal/host) and review their employees' full training transcript, highlighting all completed activities.

Why am I assigned the SVSH Prevention for Supervisors course? I do not supervise anyone.

If your position is a level 4 or 5 (considered MSP), then you are automatically assigned the Supervisor SVSH Prevention courses. Also, if you have a direct report associated with your account, even if it's not filled, you will be assigned the supervisor version of the SVSH Prevention course.

How do I see the Foundational Skills required training courses for my direct reports?

1) Please refer to this step-by-step guide for navigating your Manager Dashboard on the UCLC.
2) You can also review the PeopleCards in the Regional Portal by going into an employee's card, then clicking "Details", then go to the "Foundational Skills Training" tab.

Why is my Berkeley People Management Knowledge Assessment not showing as complete in the UC Learning Center? I received the email saying I've completed it.

The UC Learning Center and the BPM Knowledge Assessment tool do not speak to one another. A completion report is run in the assessment tool, and those who have completed the assessment are then manually marked as complete in the UC Learning Center. Our Program Manager updates BPM Knowledge Assessment completions twice a month (approximately on the 1st and the 16th), so if you just completed the assessment, it may not be updated yet.

I completed the Knowledge Assessment for Berkeley People Management Part 1: Grow Today, but it still says "Overdue" and/or is sending me overdue notifications. When will this be fixed?

Since you take the assessment on a separate system (Qualtrics), these scores need to be manually inputted into your UC Learning Center profile. This typically happens at the beginning or middle of the month. In the meantime, you will temporarily receive email notifications, but these will end when that manual input occurs. If you still receive notifications later in the month, please email us at: LearningCenter@berkeley.edu.

I want to take a particular Berkeley People Management (BPM) workshop but do not see it listed. When is the next cycle of BPM courses scheduled?

BPM workshops are scheduled in two cycles per year. The first cycle (January - May) is scheduled in October and is available in the UC Learning Center for enrollment by November 15. The second cycle (June - November) is scheduled in March and is available for enrollment in the UC Learning Center by April 15.

Do I  need to take the Berkeley People Management Part 1: Grow Today training more than once?

No, you only need to take the Berkeley People Management (BPM) Part 1: Grow Today training once; however, the content can be used for content refreshers for pertinent people management information, so feel free to take one, two, or all of the courses again as appropriate. Re-starting any of the content again does not negate your original completion.

How do I find the Berkeley People Management Part 1: Grow Today Playbooks that are mentioned at the start of each course?

When you enroll in these courses in the UC Learning Center and click Start to begin the course, you will see the word "Resources" in the upper right-hand corner of the play screen for each course. When you click on "Resources", you will see the Playbook and other resources that apply to the online course.
