Employee Initiated Reduction in Time (ERIT) Program

The University offers the Employee-initiated Reduction in Time (ERIT) Program to enable eligible career staff (except Senior Management Group members) to voluntarily reduce their working time and corresponding pay. Eligible employees may begin to sign up for ERIT immediately. This program has been extended from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2017. Learn more about the sunsetting of the ERIT program.

Departments have the option to implement or not implement ERIT. In departments that choose to participate in ERIT, an employee may request the department head’s approval to voluntarily reduce working time, within specific limits, from a minimum of one month to a maximum of 36 months.
