Claudia Gey (she/her)

Bio/CV:

I have coached youth and adults from diverse backgrounds for 15+ years and for 7+ years with a focus on career development. I am currently in training as a Co-Active (CTI) coach and anticipate completing my certification by the end of 2023. As director of a career pathway program, I have designed career development strategies for clients with significant barriers to employment and from mostly marginalized communities. As a volunteer, I have provided career coaching to immigrants and refugees, and clients from the LGBTQ community. I believe that people are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole, and my role as a coach is to partner with clients and support them in their journey toward fulfilled careers and lives.

I align with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) definition of coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential." My approach includes supporting clients in connecting with their vision for a fulfilled career/life, setting their own goals, and designing strategies on how to get there. Tools/techniques I use include uncovering strengths, values, their inner leader, and life purpose, and providing them with tools to navigate/bypass external and internal barriers and saboteurs. I coach from a place of awareness that systemic oppression is real. My approach is trauma-informed and social justice driven.
