Amy Azuma (she/her)

Bio/CV:

Amy Louise Casey Azuma (she/her) brings a heart-centered approach to her roles as L&S College Adviser and Lead of the L&S Sophomore Outreach and Engagement Team. She is deeply committed to naming and amplifying the incredible gifts, skills, and experiences of her students and colleagues. In addition to 1:1 advising, Amy co-created Sophomore Success in L&S, a series of unit-bearing courses that engage cultural wealth and developmental advising approaches to build spaces that foster self-reflection and belonging. The sophomore programming has supported hundreds of students to find their major, to outline their unique pathway to graduation, and to envision future career and graduate school opportunities. As a 2020 UC Berkeley Advising Fellow, she created 2 workshops and co-authored a workbook to help our student services community connect to their “why” through writing a statement of philosophy.

Amy earned her M.A. in International Education at the School for International Training Graduate Institute and her B.A. in English at UC Berkeley.  She received the 2020-2021 Outstanding Advisor Award in recognition of her intrapreneurial strengths-based work in engaging the campus in meeting the developmental needs of sophomore students.
