Siti Keo was/is a refugee who came to the United States as an infant. She grew up in San Diego and now calls the Bay Area home. She completed her doctoral degree in Southeast Asian history at UC Berkeley, where she is currently the manager of the Linguistics Department. Before joining Linguistics in 2021, she worked as a financial analyst at the Department of Earth and Planetary Science. She has experience in other roles within the University, including being a student, graduate student instructor, a graduate student researcher and staff member of the L&S Dean’s Diversity office. Siti also serves on the board of directors for a non-profit that seeks to empower refugee and immigrant communities in Oakland. In her spare time, she likes to read, go on walks in Tilden and watch anime.
