Dinorah Meyer, MS, NCC, RYT 500, has 20+ years’ experience as a career counselor/coach for individuals in widely ranging life and career stages. Since 2004 she has counseled and delivered programming for UC Berkeley students and alumni, for five years provided career services for partners of visiting scholars and postdocs through Cal’s VSPA program, and has seen clients in private practice since 1999. Currently she is the Cal Career Center’s Assistant Director for Environmental Design and a career coach for students in the Master of Design program.
Dinorah earned her MS in Counseling from San Francisco State University and BA in French and Minor in Dance from Tufts University and is a National Certified Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher. She has found that integrating yoga concepts and practices into counseling provides ways to engage clients holistically in exploration and problem-solving, helping them manage stress, gain clarity and perspective, and feel more empowered. Dinorah has offered workshops integrating career development and yoga for several organizations, such as the UC Davis Internship & Career Center and Sacramento Chapter of the Association for Women in Science. She has presented at national conferences about helping working parents manage competing pressures and priorities and had articles published on that topic and on integrating yoga into career counseling in Career Convergence, the National Career Development Association’s monthly web magazine.
