Clarissa Fermin

Bio/CV:

Clarissa first worked as an Employment Assistant in Central Human Resources in UC Berkeley in 2001. She had the pleasure of being a part of the PeopleSoft eRecruit Project Team implementation and was a witness on how our paper application process moved into an electronic process. This ignited her interest in business process analysis and has become fascinated by how technology can be a backbone behind efficiencies and improvements. Clarissa also worked in the Discrimination Complaint Resolution Office as a project analyst on a special assignment and in 2004, she transferred to Central IT’s Telecom unit as an HR analyst.

At her current role in the People, Performance and Culture in Berkeley IT, she is grateful for being able to witness and be a part of her co-workers’ lives from when they are first hired and until they retire. She takes joy in seeing them grow in their careers and is passionate about making herself available to provide resources when they face challenges or when life events take place. She considers them as a family. She is focused in partnering with her Director in providing human resources support to the whole Berkely IT organization and is continuing to master HR analytics.

Clarissa strives to do work with kindness and respect.

Outside of the office, she volunteers her time by teaching confidence building art enrichment classes and is committed to helping those who are returning to the workforce or are just starting in resume building and interview preparation. She also helps in the family martial arts program where they have 40+ scholars within the community they currently live. She enjoys spending quality time with family, cooking and gardening.
