Robert Amos has been in IT for two decades, with a focus on Public Cloud and Virtualization, he has skills of designing and maintaining large workloads on VMware, AWS (Amazon Web Services), and GCP (Google Cloud Platform). Prior to joining UC Berkeley in 2020, Robert has IT experience in Government and Health Care as a fully remote employee. And he is currently working on bringing more efficiency, security, and redundancy to Berkeley IT.
Over the last two years Robert enjoyed helping the community by volunteering with local North Bay Health Clinics to deploy/test/support IT infrastructure for temporary housing and remote testing locations due to Covid.
Outside of the UC Robert lives in the North Bay, with his wife and 2 children. He enjoys building Lego creations with his son, and he is still trying to understand his daughter’s spicy memes. Also, he enjoys woodworking with reclaimed wood and enjoying nature.
