2021/22 Flu Vaccination Requirement

As of November 19, 2021, all employees who access UC property will need to have obtained a flu vaccine or affirmatively decline to be vaccinated. This requirement, ordered by UC President Drake, is an important proactive measure that will help protect members of our Berkeley community and the public at large. It will also lessen the impact on our healthcare systems during the fall and winter from the flu and COVID-19. Flu season officially ends on April 30, 2022.

Who does this apply to?

All faculty, staff, postdocs, visiting scholars, and visiting student researchers who are working at a UC location.

Where can I get a flu vaccine?

You can get a flu vaccine from a variety of sources:

  • Your health care provider. All UC medical plans which cover faculty, staff and students include coverage for flu vaccinations at no cost to those covered by the plan. In addition, for those without group health care coverage, all ACA-compliant health plans also cover flu vaccinations as part of a preventive care package that includes no copay.
  • Use the CDC Vaccine Finder to see where vaccines are available near you.

I keep getting an error when I try to enter my compliance information, whom should I contact?
