Understanding what is important to you in your work is fundamental to developing a fulfilling career that adds value for you and those who benefit from your work.  Interests, skills, values and certain aspects of personality are common among qualities in which alignment between a work role/environment and the individual is important.  Even if you have previously engaged in self-assessment, it is helpful to periodically reflect on what is important to you now.
