Outside the Box Seminar Series
About the Series
The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB) in People & Culture has partnered with Jeff Chang, one among the most prominent writers and cultural critics educators in the nation, to develop and facilitate a specialized professional learning for staff and managers. The intended audience for this experience are employees who are beyond an introductory level of engagement with diversity, equity, and inclusion. This is an immersive experience around identity, culture, and creating organizational change that requires committing to attending two workshops hosted via Zoom Meeting.
Series Description
Cal has long been considered a national leader in issues of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. But where did this narrative come from, and what narratives do we need to advance now? This two-workshop series will allow interested staff to align core values and narratives around diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging programs at Cal. Part one will engage participants in a process of building a shared understanding about the development and evolution of DEIB work through storytelling and narrative building centered in their experiences. Part two of the series will engage participants in discovering shared narratives and building alignment around DEIB work.
