Wellness Programs

Wellness programs support employees efforts to maintain a fit and healthy lifestyle. UC has its own wellness program, UC Living Well, and many of the medical plans offer free, online wellness resources, including health assessments, nutrition advice and exercise counseling.

In addition, UC Berkeley has wellness programs available locally through Be Well at Work - Wellness Program.

New Hire, Rehire, Interlocation Transfer

As a new faculty or staff person, you may be eligible for employee benefits. Eligibility for benefits is based on your appointment type, duration of appointment, title, type of pay you receive or working 750 or 1,000 eligible hours in a twelve month period. Workers' Compensation

Workers' Compensation is a state-mandated benefit for employees with work-related injuries and illnesses, awarded without regard to who is at fault. Employers are required to provide benefits in case of injury, illness, death, or aggravation of a pre-existing condition resulting from employment. For the University of California, these benefits are administered by a self-insured plan. There is no outside insurance carrier. The University contracts with a third-party administrator, Sedgwick CMS, for the management of its claims.
