Layoff: Resources Provided by Employment Services

Employment Services offers a variety of services and resources to employees during their transition. The Special Placement Consideration (SPC) Coordinator and Transition Services Program (TSP) Coordinators are available to meet with employees in one-on-one and group sessions to:

  • Explain their rights to preferential rehire and recall (if applicable).
  • Describe outplacement and career transition services available on campus and in their local communities.
  • Assist with resume development for employees who elect to exercise their preferential rehire and recall rights, so their profile can be set up in the Talent Acquisition Manager (TAM) system.
  • Provide material and workshops on resume development, cover letter preparation, interview tips, job search tools and strategies, and the normal emotional aspects of career transition, as well as material on financial considerations.
