Central HR is creating a brand new HR Professional Development Program (HR PDP) to:

  • Prepare HR professionals to succeed in a shared services environment
  • Develop consistent HR skills, knowledge, and approach among UC Berkeley HR professionals
  • Strengthen partnership across the HR professional community

The HR PDP offers learning opportunities for a variety of HR audiences. Workshops and learning tools are now available!

HR Generalist Workshops

The HR Generalist Workshops are designed especially for HR generalists to enhance skills and promote consistent practice and alignment with HR policy and law. These workshops are taught by campus HR subject matter experts and provide an opportunity to come together as a community to share ideas, ask difficult questions, refresh skills or learn new ones.

UC Berkeley Extension: Certificate in Human Resource Management

UC Berkeley Extension's Certificate Program in Human Resource Management provides the knowledge, methods and skills necessary to meet the human resource challenges of today's changing workplace and workforce. With courses developed by top HR professionals and approved for re-certification credits by the HR Certification Institute, the certificate establishes a strong foundation in current HR best practices. It also prepares the HR professional to lead the strategic deployment of human capital in today's corporations, government agencies, nonprofit organizations and small businesses. The curriculum is overseen by an advisory board of business and education leaders and approved by the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, ensuring content is relevant and up-to-date. Courses are taught by working human resource professionals with many years of practical experience.
